FLYWHEEL TO CRANKSHAFT BOLT SET

For Year(s): 28-48

Four 7/16-20 x 13/16 bolts per set with the heads cross-drilled for safety wire. (See Part # 36560 for safety wire).

FLYWHEEL RING GEAR

For Year(s): 28-48

Place ring on flywheel. Heat with a rose bud tipped torch. Ring should fall onto flywheel. As it cools it will tighten to flywheel. Tapered teeth face rear of car.

FLYWHEEL TO CRANKSHAFT DOWELS

For Year(s): 28-31

Two pins to line up crankshaft to flywheel.

NEW FLYWHEEL HOUSING

For Year(s): 28-31

All new flywheel housing cast from strong ductile iron. This housing has been reinforced to prevent it from cracking.

FLYWHEEL HOUSING TO BLOCK BOLTS

For Year(s): 28-31

Four 7/16-14 x 1 1/16 bolts with head cross-drilled for safety wire. Located around inner circle of flywheel housing and two 7/16-14 x 1 11/16 hex bolts and lock washers at top of flywheel to hold accelerator assembly to block.

FLYWHEEL HOUSING GASKET

For Year(s): 28-31

Paper type gasket. Seal area around camshaft with gasket sealer to eliminate leaking.

FLYWHEEL COTTER PIN

For Year(s): 28-31

This is the large cotter pin (3/16" X 1") that hangs out of the hole in the bottom of the flywheel. Oil slowly collects in the flywheel housing and drips from the hole. If the hole is clogged by road dirt, the oil can eventually reach the clutch disc, causing the disc to slip. With the cotter pin through the hole, each bump will move the pin up and down, keeping the hole clear. This pin is included in cotter pin set (# 36570 or # 36580).

This is the steel half circle cover on the flywheel housing.

FLYWHEEL INSPECTION PLATE BOLTS

For Year(s): 28-31

Three 1/4-28 x 1/2 bolts and lock washers. No marks on head with raven finish.

FLYWHEEL HOUSING SHIMS

For Year(s): 28-31

The U shape shim between the flywheel housing and cylinder block. 2 per set. These are .010 thick and brass as original. You may need more than one set. See “How to Restore Your Model A,” Vol. 4, pg. 10.
