It's easier to remove and install shaft from front end of the transmission box. There is an O' ring groove cut on one end of the shaft and an O' ring is installed. This O' ring will prevent oil from leaking out around the shaft onto your garage floor. Be sure to replace the reverse idler shaft too (10620).
